U.S. Treasury's Bureau of Engraving & Printing To Use ACU Gage Systems to Inspect Paper Currency

Acu-Gage Systems, a manufacturer of one, two and three axis non-contact video and laser measuring machines has been awarded a contract from the US Treasury Department’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) for up to nine measuring systems.

Acu-Gage Systems will supply 3-Axis measuring systems which will be used to inspect the registration and alignment of all United States’ paper currency. The systems will be installed in Washington, DC.and in Fort Worth, TX.

These systems will provide the latest state of the art dimensional measuring to BEP. The contract, with options, is valued at nearly $900,000 and will consist of nine systems in all: seven 36” X 36” X 7” (measuring envelope), 3-Axis fully automated (CNC, video edge detection, programmable zoom, and Z auto focus capabilities) and two 48” X 48” X 7”systems having identical capabilities. All the systems will be supplied with special fluorescing lighting and vacuum tables.
