Cermet-tipped circular blades

The newest line from Cut Technologies Metal LLC features cermet-tipped circular blades that allow the cutting of mild steel and stainless. These high-performance saw blades allow most metal, such as mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel and other hard materials, to be cut faster and with less material loss due to kerf.

Unique tooth material and design allow even hard materials to be cut with a finished edge. These new cermet-tipped saw blades work with high-production cold saw machines, standard cold saw machines, and chop saws.

High volume thread grinder

Equipped for production thread grinding of parts from 1 to 10mm diameter up to 100mm long, Drake’s TEM-Mini Thread Grinder is designed for high volume, precision-threaded parts manufacturers in the cutting tool, aerospace, and thread gage industries.

Suited for grinding small taps, Drake’s forming and cutting tap software provides control of the amount and shape of the tap’s relief. The Mini’s smaller-diameter wheel (200mm) and low-mass wheel axis gives control of the shape of a form tap’s lobes and relief.

Planetary deburring head

Abtex Corp. has introduced a new deburring system that uses the company’s own planetary deburring head. The Tri-Ten Series, named for its three 10" brushes per head, is capable of deburring both sides of a flat part in a single pass without flipping it and produces optimal brushing action in through-feed applications. Its independent variable speed drives allow for job-to-job fine-tuning of the rotary head-to-individual brush speed ratio by the system operator.

Available in both wet and dry configurations, all Tri-Ten Series motors and electrical components are on the outside of the process cabinet. This design assures that critical components are safely isolated from the wet environment.

Resharpening machine

ANCA has developed two new automation enhancements for its GX7 resharpening machine to create new levels of flexibility and productivity: a seven-station automatic wheel changer and an 85-pocket GLX automatic tool loader.

With seven wheel packs, the new GX7 tool and cutter grinder delivers flexibility for regrind shops because it can grind a wider variety of tools in a single setup.

The auto loader uses a vertical belt to house up to 84 tools of varying diameter and geometry in a series of pockets, so the regrind operation can handle tool regrinding tasks in any order and lot sizes down to one.

CNC carbide cutoff system feature-laden

A Nishijimax CNC Carbide Cutoff System is an option to replace three to four production saws, and to cut more parts per hour and more parts per blade than a standard production saw.

Developed in 1990, Nishijimax Cutoff Technology was originally introduced to improve the uptime demands of Japanese automotive forgers. By integrating Cutoff Technology into a sawing machine, Nishijimax has achieved reductions in operations (cuts from 50 to 7 sec.), high rpm with minimal kerf and swarf and greater chip load than other production saws.

Nishijimax Systems are equipped with a range of features that promote productivity. Designed for fully automatic cycles, all Nishijimax saws feature auto loaders and bar stockers.

With Nishijimax’s NC Saw Spindle Feed Axis, a precise feed rate is set automatically and input chip load is maintained. The saw blade feed rate is controlled via an AC Servo Motor with Encoder, a Mitsubishi Programmable Servo Drive, and a precision ball screw. Compared to hydraulic systems, there is no fluctuation for temperature or condition of the oil.

Other features include Nishijimax’s original powder metal saw blade brake for zero vibration when the blade enters the cut, a gearbox oil chiller to maintain constant gearbox temperature throughout 24/7 operation, and an oil pressure adjustment valve. Magnetic and drag style automatic chip conveyors are offered as options.
